1953 Buick Roadmaster Skylark
The 1953 Buick Skylark is the culmination of 50 years of Buick ingenuity. ’53 was the first year for Buick to showcase the 322 CID Nailhead V8 as well as their first year for a 12-volt electrical system. The Skylark was a fully optioned car including power windows, power brakes, full carpeting, and a "Selectronic" AM radio. Buick built 1,690 Skylarks in 1953 and listed new for just north of $5000. At the time, the average new car cost was around $1650 making the Skylark over three times the average price. The limited production of this car makes it one of the most collectible Buicks to date.
